  We adore this quiet fan. Our first one, which we purchased approximately ten years ago, is still functional and gorgeous.

  Works better than comparable fans

  This fan does the action I want it to. In particular, the exchange feature is fantastic. Although it is a little louder than I prefer, it doesn't keep me awake. Just be sure to place it in a window with a screen on it; otherwise, bugs will enter through the fan, which lacks a screen. Considering how short the power chord is, unless your plug is below the window, prepare to use an extension cord.

  This is fantastic for those cool autumn days when my apartment feels like a sauna. This fan helps because I don't have a cross breeze. My apartment's fans are set to remove hot air, which opens the window next to them and lets a cool breeze enter.

  The extra extension panel fits unevenly in the window because it does not fit properly. It takes some getting used to the settings, but I truly appreciate the alternatives. For the ideal temperature, you can set one fan to run at medium speed and the other at low speed, or any other combination. Over the past few years, I have experimented with a variety of window fans before settling on this one.

  The most of the functionality is good, but one of the latches that holds on to the space-filling panel item that pops out was easily broken. And what about the top dial, which is unmistakably a fader? Simply said, it's off. Although using a pot instead of an on/off switch won't necessarily cause any harm, why? And given that it only has two locations, why is it labeled with a small shrinking moon pattern? bug me. However, the fans work well, and the exhaust feature is really useful.

  It' better than nothing.

  I also have a few older fans from a different manufacturer and an older model of this fan. This new one significantly falls short in most areas. The controls are awkward, the construction seems more shoddy, and even though the blades spin quite quickly, there doesn't seem to be much air movement. But as I stated, it's still preferable to having no fan at all.

  Loud as hell

  It functions as a fan, but it is so loud that I'm hesitant to leave it on during the night for fear of damaging my hearing. Really painful to listen to. Even though I have two windows, there is no way I'd ever buy another of these fans—unless I started sleeping with earplugs in. I should have paid more attention to the reviews that complained about the volume. However, as long as it is cooler outside than inside, it does function properly. There are no obnoxious lights on it, and the controls are smooth and straightforward.

  Arrived with a broken switch

  Like this window fan and have used other Holmes fan models with great success in the past. More so than my current models, the one side that was working was quiet and efficient. Unfortunately, the speed switch wasn't working on the opposite side and was broken. Upon receipt of the replacement, return this item. I would have given a higher review if not

  I purchased mine "used like new" for a discount. went for it despite it seeming too good to be true. It turned out that the fan in the package was not the one that was intended to be there. Several of the controls are absent. However, it fulfills our needs, and the price was reasonable, so we decided to keep it.?

  Noisy motor on one fan.

  One of the fan motors started making a loud, annoying noise after approximately two weeks, especially on high. Could not see anything being touched by the blades. All that remained was a malfunctioning motor. To utilize it, you must turn the noisy fan side all the way down. I am quite dissatisfied for a $70 fan. had already discarded the package, otherwise I would have given it back.
